Meet Jacky

I grew up as the firstborn son, and with that came a lot of pressure. I had to be the example: the obedient one, the one who never messed up, the one who made my parents proud. On the outside, it looked like I was doing everything right. But inside, I felt like I was always failing.

Even when people would compliment me, my parents would brush it off. They’d say I was just pretending, that others didn’t know the real me. Over time, I started to believe them. No matter how much I gave, it never felt like enough. And deep down, I felt empty like I was just going through the motions of life.

I tried to fix it. I read books, I meditated, I tried building new habits. But I was still chained. Shame wouldn’t let go. Resentment grew in my heart. I carried anger I didn’t know what to do with. Perfectionism controlled my work, and every failure in business felt like proof that I wasn’t good enough. I kept trying to change because I hated myself. Nothing worked.

The real change came when I found Christ. For the first time, I realized my identity wasn’t in what I did, what I achieved, or how perfect I could be. My identity was in Him. And little by little, the chains started to fall. Shame. Anger. Resentment. Addictions. Lies I believed about myself. I wasn’t performing for worth anymore. I was living from it.

Now I know what it feels like to live as a hostage in your own mind stuck in shame, afraid to face the shadows. But I also know what it’s like to finally be free. That’s why I do this work. Not to fix you, but to walk with you. To shine light on the places you’ve been scared to look at. To remind you who you really are in God’s eyes.
